Thinking, Doing, Talking Science is an inclusive approach to teaching primary science where children are encouraged to use higher order thinking skills and their creativity.

Through using this approach, children:

• Are encouraged to be curious and search for answers
• Develop enquiry/inquiry skills, knowledge and understanding in science
• Develop oracy skills through science, linking science learning with statutory requirements for spoken language within the National Curriculum for England and cross-curricular skills in the Curriculum for Wales

PSTT’s Thinking, Doing, Talking Science Taster session will introduce some of the thinking and talking strategies shared during our two-day courses. Participants will have the opportunity to try out practical strategies, reflect on how they might be introduced in the classroom and ask questions about the approach. This session is suitable for teachers in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in England and Wales.
